I joined the Kenyan production of A Man Like You in March 2017. The play is written and directed by Silvia Cassini and has already had very successful runs in Nairobi and New York last year. The story centres on Patrick North, a British diplomat, held hostage in Somalia, and his wife Elizabeth’s reaction to the situation back in the leafy suburb of Muthaiga in Nairobi. The theme: terrorism – who is the real terrorist, and if you could lay down your life to save that of hundreds of others, would you do it?
This year we’ve toured the play to Nairobi, Harare, Cape Town, and Hong Kong. The play goes to Kampala in Uganda at the end of this month.
